Biography

Hello! I am Zhou Meng. I was born in Shanghai, China and I have lived in Singapore ever since the age of five.

I will say why and when I start to love ARTS? When I was young, I drew a lot of pretty things like flowers, butterflies, sun, clouds, birds, houses and many more like every other kids drew. One day, I wanted to ask my grandma to get me strawberries but I didn't know how to name it. Out of frustration, my grandma gave me colour markers and a white paper. I drew a big red oval and put a lot of black dots. It is how I start to draw to describe things. 



The first anime, which I have watched and drawn, is SAILORMOON. It is very popular during my childhood times especially for girls. As years went by, I kept drawing and creating many different kind of girls, guys, costumes, animals, scenes, etc. of my own. However, I have no foundation or don't attend any course to learn so I go to nearby library to borrow guidebooks instead. I also learn how to use Photoshop CS3 in order to colour the characters. 



After my O level, I was given an opportunity to learn- Sketching. I had a home teacher who taught me how to sketch every Sunday for a year. I managed to sketch any objects (fruits, wine, toys, etc.), stone statues and people who sit in front of me without moving (It took me very long time to complete it and my dad is the first model.). One more thing... In 2009, when I returned back to Singapore from Paris after sightseeing many kinds of stone statues and attending a few museums, I didn't regret that my artworks of stone statues were very gorgeous.

For now, every single piece of my artwork is priceless. 

 

I can keep up with my drawing skill and eventually I can make a huge leap of improvement!
